Our Brief Story
From inception in 2004, SCORE have worked with vulnerable communities in Kisumu, Kakamega, Nyamira, Vihiga and Siaya Counties reaching over 100,000 OVC at an estimated budget of Kes. 240 million. In partnership with Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF), Vibrant Village Foundation (VVF) and Rural Inclusion (RI); SCORE is currently implementing SHAPE Project (Sustainable Household Agricultural Productivity and Empowerment) and VOICE Project (Village Opportunities for Inclusive Community Empowerment) targeting 2000 OVC in 650 households in Siaya County.
As an institution, SCORE has gained significantly from USAID Implementing Partners’ institutional strengthening and organizational capacity development initiatives towards strengthening SCORE’s structures and systems as well as long term adaptive capacity.

SCORE Household Economic Strengthening (HES) Comprehensive Model

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
With the provision of Zero rated loans, promotion of composting and kitchen gardening including commercial vegetable production, SCORE ensures 100% of the target beneficiaries access enough food of high quality and improved nutrition which contributes to household stability and reduction of malnutrition amongst children less than 5 years. The surplus from the household are sold at the local markets leading to income security. This increases incomes thus improved productivity that enables savings and loaning groups to thrive.
